一般情況下,fruit被認為是不可數名詞,但是用來指水果的種類或類別時,就是可數了
1.表示「水果」時,通常用作總稱或集體名詞,不可數.如：
he just lived on fruit.他只靠吃水果維持生命.
would you like some more fruit?你要不要再吃點水果?
若表示水果種類,則是可數的.如：
the mango is a tropical fruit.芒果是種熱帶水果.
the tree bears a red hard fruit.這種樹結一種紅色堅硬的果實.
但有時到底是表示總稱還是種類,完全取決於具體的語境,有時兩種情況都說得通.如：
the country exports tropical fruit(s).該國出口熱帶水果.
2.表示「幾種（多種、各種）水果」時,可直接說 some (many,various) fruits,也可用 some (many,various) kinds of fruit（後者通常用不用複數）.如：
some [some kinds of] fruits don』t freeze well at all.有些水果根本就不能冷藏.
they sell various [various kinds of] fruits at that shop.那個商店賣各種水果.
