英文中e.g.的全稱是 exempli gratia；i.e.的全稱是 id est 。

英文中e.g. = for example的意思，當句子中需要舉例子時用，舉例：

i.e.=that is / in other，用來進一步解釋前面所表明的觀點。舉例：

一、e.g.和i.e.的含義介紹：
1、i.e. 是 拉丁語 id est 的縮寫，意思是「那就是說、換句話說」，等同於that is / in other，用來進一步解釋前面所表明的觀點。比如：
i like citrus fruits(柑橘類水果), i.e., the juicy(多汁的), edible fruits (食用水果)with leathery(堅韌的), aromatic(有香味的) rinds (皮)of any of numerous tropical(熱帶的), usually thorny shrubs (多刺的灌木)or trees of the genus citrus(柑橘屬).
在上面這個例子中，i.e. 後面的內容就是對柑橘類水果的闡述。
2、e.g. 是拉丁語 exempli gratia 的縮寫，意思是「舉個例子，比如」，等同於for example、 for the sake of example、such as，使用 e.
g. 的目的是用幾個例子來說明前面的觀點。比如：
i like citrus fruits(柑橘類水果), e.g., tangerines(橘子), lemons(檸檬), and limes(酸橙).
上面提到的這兩個關於水果的例子，i.e.表示對屬性的闡述，e.g.表示對品種的舉例。
二、兩個詞彙的區別：
區分「 i.e.」和「e.g.」有一個簡單又好記的辦法：
1、i.e. = in other words / that is
如果在你想用「 i.e.」和「e.
g.」的時候，如果想表達 in other words 的含義(後面的內容用來說明或者解釋前面的術語)，就可以直接用「 i.e.
」替換。
2、e.g. = for example
如果你想表達for example 的意思，也就是說後面就開始舉例子，那麼，用e.g.一定是沒有錯的~~重要的事情再說一遍，e.
g. 和 i.e.
都是帶標點符號的哦，在正式的寫作中e.g. 和 i.
e. 作為插入語，在句子中前後都有 「,」 的。
擴充套件資料
1、i.e.和e.g.不用斜體。雖然二者都是拉丁文縮寫，但這種用法由來已久，已被視為英語中的一種標準用法。
2、記住i.e.和e.g.都是縮寫，所以每個字母后面都有點號。
3、i.e.和e.g.後面通常要加逗號。
