第一到第十二序數詞寫法：第1 first 、第

序數詞可以用縮寫形式來表示。主要縮寫形式有：
first——1st

其中1st，2nd，3rd為特殊形式，其它的都是阿拉伯數字後加th。
在英語中，使用序數詞時前面要加定冠詞 the，但是，在下面的情況下則不加 the：
1．當序數詞前有形容詞性物主代詞或名詞所有格修飾時，序數詞前不用 the。

tom is lily's third boyfriend. 湯姆是莉莉的第三個男朋友。
2．當表達分數時，序數詞前不用 the。
one fifth of the students here are from the country. 這兒1/5的學生來自農村。

基數詞：表示數目的詞稱為基數詞。

b．從 11——19 eleven，twelve， thirteen， fourteen， fifteen， sixteen， seventeen，eighteen， ni***een． 這裡除 eleven， twelve， thirteen， fifteen， eighteen為特殊形式外，fourteen，sixteen，seventeen，ni***een都是由其個位數形式後新增字尾-teen構成。
從 21——99 整數幾十中除twenty，thirty, forty，fifty，eighty為特殊形式外，sixty，seventy，ni***y都是其個位數形式後新增字尾-ty構成。表示幾十幾時，在幾十和個位基數詞形式之間新增連字元「-」

千位數以上 從數字的右端向左端數起，每三位數加一個逗號「，」。從右開始，第一個「，」前的數字後新增 thousand，第二個「，」前面的數字後新增 million，第三個「，」前的數字後新增 billion。然後一節一節分別表示，兩個逗號之間最大的數為百位數形式。
序數詞：表示順序的詞稱為序數詞。
a．從第一至第十九 其中，one— first， two— second， three— third， five— fifth，eight—eighth，nine—ninth，twelve— twelfth為特殊形式，其它的序數詞都是由其相對應的基數詞後面新增「th」構成。例如： six— sixth、ni***een— ni***eenth．
b．從第二十至第九十九 整數第幾十的形式由其對應的基數詞改變結尾字母y為i，再加「eth」構成。
twenty——twentieth thirty——thirtieth
表示第幾十幾時，用幾十的基數詞形式加上連字元「－」和個位序數詞形式一起表示。

c．第一百以上的多位序數詞 由基數詞的形式變結尾部分為序數詞形式來表示。

d．序數詞的縮寫形式 有時，序數詞可以用縮寫形式來表示。主要縮寫形式有。
